Library Director Mandy Carrico

Mandy Carrico joined the City of Tolleson in 2023 as the Library Director. In this role, she is responsible for delivering information services including collection items to check out, programs, meeting spaces, and providing library services throughout the community.

Prior to joining the City of Tolleson, Mandy worked in libraries for the City of Scottsdale and for Harris County in Houston, TX. She has held every position in a library setting from re-shelving the books to a children’s librarian to managing several library branches. In her most recent roles, she served as the Adult Services and Technology coordinator for the Harris County Public Library system and as the Senior Manager of Operations for the Scottsdale Public Library system.

Mandy earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. She is attracted to library service because it has always been a shining example of customer-forward public service. She believes in the importance of public libraries in a community because it provides access to information resources and space for individuals and groups in the community without any expectations. In a library, you can simply come and just be.

In her personal time, Mandy loves spending time with her family. She loves traveling, writing, cooking, and trying new foods.
