Miriam Segura

Miriam Segura has proudly served as a City Commissioner since January 2025, bringing more than 20 years of experience in social services and a strong commitment to community well-being. As a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Miriam works independently as a Mental Health Clinician, supporting individuals and families through counseling and advocacy.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and dual bachelor’s degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Family Resources and Human Development with an emphasis in Child Development. Fluent in Spanish, Miriam is able to connect deeply with diverse members of the community and is a passionate advocate for mental health and family services.

Throughout her career, Miriam has focused on empowering women, children, and families, particularly in healthcare and community-based settings. Her dedication to serving vulnerable populations is evident in both her professional work and her volunteer commitments.

Miriam is an active community member and volunteer. She has participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program and led a team in the Walk to End Domestic Violence. At her church, she currently serves as Music Director and Youth Sunday School Teacher, continuing her commitment to mentorship and service.

A proud Tolleson resident since 2001, Miriam enjoys gardening, singing, and championing community initiatives that support families, the environment, and overall well-being.
