Missing Tolleson Boy Found Safe

Found - Mathew Dubose

Tolleson, AZ (May 17, 2022) The Tolleson Police Department is reporting that 12 year-old runaway, Mathew Dubose, was located last night, May 16, 2022, in a residential neighborhood in the area of El Mirage Road and Camelback Road.

Mathew had been missing since May 11. His family, police, citizens, elected officials and teachers held a search party Sunday, May 15 to find him. The search party started at the Tolleson Elementary School District office at 8 a.m. The Tolleson Police Department utilized social media and patrol officers to help in the search for Dubose.

Mathew was found walking down a residential street when a resident recognized him as the runaway juvenile from Tolleson.  The resident stopped Mathew and offered him some food while her husband called 911.  The call was transferred to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) who dispatched a deputy to the location.  The MCSO deputy requested a response from the local fire department to check Mathew out to make sure he was in good health.  MCSO contacted Mathew’s mother directly, who responded to the location to take custody of Mathew.

The Tolleson Police Department and the City of Tolleson would like to thank everybody who assisted in the search for Mathew and handed out flyers.  We would also like to thank the local news stations for getting the story out to their viewers. The community assistance and media coverage lead to Mathew being recognized and returned safely.
